Trust His Hand - I am the Righteousness of God in Christ
One of those days where I took the day off again because I have leaves to clear. And ever since we aren't really free to travel abroad much these days, it's been a struggle sometimes to find ways to spend the day in Singapore. But surely, everyday spent with God is not a wasted day!
Decided to sign myself up for a Barre class at one of my favourite Barre studios in Singapore! So much for taking the day off but awaking at a time earlier than my work days even 😂. So here we go, 9.30am Barre class. During the class, one of the segments where we were working on our arms, we were doing variations of push ups, as the instructor was correcting my form, she also mentioned "trust the hands", as if to say that our hands are stronger than we think it is, and that got me thinking, how about trusting God's hands more!
BAM!
As ordinary as the day could have been, I love it when God doesn't miss the opportunity to speak His love language into my life, knowing I seem to know where He is flowing with this. And finally got to sit down at my computer, after a super accomplished and fruitful day, to look up where He is leading me. And I'm so so loved!!!
Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;
your walls are continually before me.Isaiah 49:16 ESV
First of all, we are engraved in the palms of His hands. If you think you are just an accident, or coincidentally landed on this planet called Earth, think again. Psalm 139 verses 13-16 ESV says, "For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was no hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them." With all that said (and more), do you still think you are "just" an accident? The Lord clearly knew you were coming and knew what He placed in you when He created you and He created you fearfully and wonderfully.
Wonder what the word "fearfully" mean? According to Brown-Driver-Briggs definition, one of which is "cause astonishment and awe: of Yahweh himself". And Genesis 1:27 confirms it with "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” We are created in God's image. You are created in God's image!
Secondly, do you know what the hands of Jesus did for you? During Jesus' crucifixion, the soldier's They nailed his hands and feet to the cross (Mark 15:24). His hands was nailed to the Cross. And why was His hands pierced? In Isaiah 53:5, "But He was pierced for our transgressions". And transgressions refer to our sins. Hebrews 8:12 confirmed that "For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.” God no longer remembers our sin, because Jesus' hands was pierced and our sins have been forgiven, and they are not only forgiven, God remembers them no more! WOW! So who are we in the eyes of God? We have been made righteous in Christ!!!
Felt the Lord leading me from one verse to another to remind me to TRUST HIS HANDS. Not just His Hands because His Hand will help me, His Hand will uphold me, His Hand will protect me (and the list goes on), but because His Hands love me so much that He took my sin on the cross so that I can declare that I'm the righteousness of God in Christ.
